Hooray for Dumfries and Galloway
Dumfries and Galloway Council have given themselves a target, as a region, to be Net Zero by 2025. There are a lot of carbon reduction assets present within Dumfries and Galloway, and it has always been a hub for sustainable businesses and nature writers alike. The region have constructed Scotland's first on-shore wind farm, Britain's first off-shore wind farm and have a revolutionary hydro scheme. With a history of sustainable innovation and beautiful natural areas, Dumfries and Galloway has become a base for environmental studies, with the University of Glasgow and University of the West of Scotland conducting much of their environmental teaching there. We would go as far as to say Dumfries and Galloway are the poster region for driving the Green Revolution!
